This is a presentation on Mother Teresa (Saint Teresa of Calcutta).
The presentation covers Mother Teresa’s early life, becoming a nun, her work with the poor and sick in India, her achievements and legacy and a selection of her quotes. The last part of the presentation includes some interesting questions to provoke discussion.
Use this as part of a lesson or for an assembly for ages 5 - 11.

This resource is a comprehension activity based on the year 6 reading comprehension SATs paper.
The theme for the comprehension is the story of the Annunciation (when Mary is visited by the Angel Gabriel). I have rewritten the Bible story to resemble the style of the SATs reading paper. There is a reading booklet followed by four or five pages of questions, which contains a range of questions based on last year’s paper. There is also a mark scheme at the end of the booklet.
I have included 3 differentiated levels. The HA level is similar to the SATs paper, whilst the MA and LA use slightly simplified wording in the reading and question booklet and could also be used by year 5s.

This is a plan for an assembly on Good Friday, with a focus on the theme of making sacrifices. There is an optional PowerPoint on the Good Friday story included. The plan is easy to follow and requires no resources, so is perfect for using at the last minute!
I like leading assemblies that are interactive, engaging and relevant to the children’s lives. So this assembly involves you telling an anecdote about a recent event, as well as asking for volunteers to perform a school scenario. Children are encouraged to use these stories to think of small sacrifices they can make for others in their own lives. This is then linked to Jesus’s sacrifice on Good Friday. There is a lot of opportunity for children to think about their own experiences and to feedback. There is also an example prayer/reflection to finish with.

This resource is a reading comprehension activity covering the part of the Christmas story when the Wise Men visit Jesus. I have adapted the bible story to create a descriptive passage for Grade 5 or 6. It is split into three differentiated levels.
Higher Ability
There is a reading booklet of 3 pages (1132 words), followed by 4 pages of questions (14 questions). The passage is very descriptive and includes some advanced vocabulary. The questions are varied and include finding the meaning of words and phrases, drawing inferences, describing characters, ordering the story, true or false questions and multiple choice tick questions.
Middle Ability
There is a reading booklet of 3 pages (965 words) followed by 4 pages of questions (14 questions). This passage is slightly shorter and simpler than the higher ability passage. The questions are varied and include finding the meaning of words and phrases, drawing inferences, describing characters, ordering the story, true or false questions and multiple choice tick questions.
Lower Ability
There is a reading booklet of 3 pages (837 words) followed by 4 pages of questions (12 questions.) This is the shortest, simplest passage, while still challenging the kids. The questions are varied and include finding the meaning of words and phrases, drawing inferences, describing characters, true or false questions and multiple choice tick questions.
There is also a set of answers for each level.

This resource is a plan with all accompanying resources for teaching a lesson about Jesus feeding the 5000. It is aimed at 5-7 year olds and is highly interactive.
